Roaming in Romania Day 3 Silence is Grey

Having returned to our hotel at Mila 23 after a frenetic first morning on the Delta, it was time for a bit of a relax with a light lunch, downloading and backing-up images and a siesta to catch up on some missing sleep. As I drew the curtains for the afternoon nap, I noticed a gathering mass of grey clouds in the distance. When I woke at 3pm to get ready for the next photography session, that would take us through the late afternoon and evening, I opened the curtains and a mass of clouds had filled the sky in a low grey blanket. The atmosphere beneath was very still, heavy and slightly oppressive.

We set off in the boat and soon again cut off the wide main channel into a narrow twisting one. However, as we travelled along it very quickly became obvious that a different mood had settled across the Delta. It was as if the change in the weather had tripped a large off switch causing all the birds and wildlife to become inactive and quiet. Even the constant chorus from the frogs had fallen silent. It was quite eerie as we slowly chugged along through the silent weed choke channels that seemed devoid of bird life. You get times like this back in UK, when one day will be very quiet for birds even though they are very active on the days preceding and following.

Despite the apparent lack of activity it was inevitable that we would eventually happen upon the ubiquitous Squacco Heron. This bird put on a good show as it went into stalking mode to catch a frog. The bird became almost cat like as it got lower and lower as it approached the unsuspecting amphibian.

After photographing the bird for a while we carried on our journey with the only bird we came across being a solitary Green Sandpiper in the grey gloom

Not surprisingly the next bird we happened across was another another Squacco heron this one being busily engaged with tackling a large water beetle larvae.

I am not sure if it was the lack of action, the apparent weight of the sky pressing down from above or the fact that we never seemed to quite be in the optimal position to photograph the bird but I was starting to find this session slightly frustrating. I suspect this had mainly to do with the fact of normally being more in control of the position where I am photographing a bird from to ensure a good background and pose. Here I had to make do with where the boat had stopped and I could often see a better photography angle if it had just come to rest in a slightly different position. However, you have to always try and make the best of what is in front of you and the camera.

I think when you travel abroad you often go with expectations that it will be continual action with the camera but this is rarely the case. Those who remember my trip to Hungary last year might recall how we sat in a hide with just a single coot bobbing around in front of us for 7 hours. On this occasion those two Squacco Heron had so far saved a very quiet session.

We sailed into a larger channel and tied up along side a vertical soil bank close to a Kingfisher burrow, although despite waiting there for a while there was no evidence of any birds. Not even a passing electric blue flash to raise the hopes that a bird might appear. As we sat there waiting and hoping, a hatch of large cream Mayflies started. It has many years since I have seen this as thousands of these large flies emerge from the water in unison and dance across the surface for their brief few hours life to mate and then expire. This event certainly woke some of the fish up that were greedily sucking in those that had become trapped in the surface film.

We headed off downstream escorted by a swarms of mayflies and where the channel rejoined the main one a few birds were taking advantage of natures bounty. A merlin, a roller a few common terns were busily snapping up the easy meals but the light was to poor and the sky unattractive shade of grey to make it worthwile to attempt any flight photos. In fact I only took a couple of a Caspian Gull (which is very similar to a Herring Gull except some subtle differences) and a Common Tern that had temporarily alighted on a branch in some debris that had accumulated mid-channel.

We headed off in the boat once more and turned up another channel which after a while opened out in to an enormous reed fringed lake whose surface was dotted with patches of yellow and white lilies. We had a brief encounter with a Night Heron and a solitary White Pelican and as the little light there left was further diminished at the end of the day we could see there were quite a large number of Squacco and Night Herons around the different patches of lilies.

It looked like a place that might be worth visiting the following evening when hopefully the light would be improved. A lone pelican in the rapidly descending darkness also proved to be our first sighting of the much rarer Dalmatian Pelican.

Overall the first day on the Delta had been one of two halves with a wonderful start but a slightly disappointing and frustrating end. However, this silence in the grey would all be forgotten the next day as the Delta sprung to life once more and really showed us what an amazing destination this is for the bird photographer. Of course that will be the subject of my next post...

Another memorable game - Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 is available now, both in iOS and Android.

First, to mention the features (claimed by the developer):

Then, heres my own opinions.
Honestly, the mobile version of the Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 is a very much simplified version of the Desktop version. There is only 1 type of site/map to start with. During the game play, no more screaming sound effects from the terrified riders. The guests are no longer drag-able.

Furthermore, the trees and bushes are now serving more as the decorations. You can directly sell them instead of logging. Each facility doesnt have a customize-able entry fee anymore.

Every activity performed in the Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 will reward you experience - Building facilities, Upgrading facilities, Collecting money and etc. The higher level you achieve, the more attractions and rides you will unlock. In the end, you may brag about how outstanding your roller coasters are to your friends.

Like other FREE games, to increase the pace, you may spend some money on the Tickets to complete your goals and activities faster. But it is definitely alright if you dont do that.

To be honest, I just started playing this Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 Mobile. I expect to see more (and post more) features coming soon. Heres my quick feedback for this game:

Apart from the Goal, I would like to see a list of Achievements from my customized Roller Coaster game, such as "More than 100,000 guests patronized my theme park", or "Collect more than 100,000 dollars".
There should have 1 button to Auto-collect the moneys gained from the facilities. At the moment, every tap you make increases your experience. But the thing is, the more infrastructures you build, the more cumbersome would the entire game become. It is hoped that the developers could do something to improve this.

Sandboxing Flash Safari 7 Is Adobes Nanny

Adobe has been very naughty. Nanny is not pleased. So its off to isolation in the sandbox with Adobe Flash, that retrobate obnoxious-ware of the Internet that has been more dangerous than useful.

Good news: Apple has joined the nanny crew and sent obstreperous, unreliable Flash off the sandbox in Safari 7.

As per the SANS Institute via NewsBites Volume 15 Number 083:

Adobe Flash Player is now sandboxed in Apples Safari browser. Adobe has already released sandboxed versions of Flash for Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. When software is sandboxed, it is granted limited privileges on a system; it may be prohibited from writing to a storage device or altering data in memory. The sandboxed version of Flash for Safari is for machines running OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

Whats Sandboxing?

Lets see what Wikipedia says:

The sandbox typically provides a tightly controlled set of resources for guest programs to run in, such as scratch space on disk and memory. Network access, the ability to inspect the host system or read from input devices are usually disallowed or heavily restricted. In this sense, sandboxes are a specific example of virtualization.

IOW: Its a safe space for isolating bad actors from good actors on your computer.

Note, however, that Java was supposed to be sandboxed. That didnt work thanks to Oracle infesting it with code that leaped outside of the sandbox, directly into open computer space. Therefore, its important to be wary of anything labeled as sandboxed that may in fact be leaking sand into places you dont want it to go. Time will tell if the Flash sandbox is actually safe or not.

And no, sorry but this sandboxed version of Flash does not sandbox on earlier versions of Apples Safari. It is exclusively supported in OS X Mavericks 10.9 and above.

The best way to avoid naughty Flash from putting your computer at risk is to make certain it is up-to-date:

Looking at sales for the three months ending in May, Kantar also found Samsung had the biggest share of the overall US market, with 37 percent to Apple’s 29 percent. Apple still commands a higher loyalty rating, with 88 percent of current customers intending to buy another iPhone, but Samsung is almost equal, with 86 percent of its users intending to stay loyal. [laelamadjnun.info]- Reset Canon IP 2770 error 5B00, Error pada printer canon memang akan menampilkan sebuah pesan error code, ada banyak macamnya error code pada printer canon, mulai dari kasus kertas habis sampai sensor tidak bekerja semua sudah ada error codenya masing-masing, tetapi dari situlah kita jadi terasa terbantu tanpa harus menganalisa per bagian, untuk kali ini saya akan mencoba mengulas masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh pengguna canon IP 2770 khususnya error code 5B00/(The ink absorber is almost full) seperti yang terlihat pada gambar disamping, sebenarnya masalah diatas muncul karena count pirnt nya sudah melebihi batas/misalkan saja sebuah printer mempunya maksimal cetak 2000 lembar, setelah kita mencetak 2000 lembar maka printer sudah tidak mau bekerja lagi karena sudah melampaui batas maximal cetak, untuk itu kita harus mengubah count print nya menjadi 0 lagi sehingga printer dapat kita gunakan lagi, untuk membuat count print nya menjadi 0 kita harus meresetnya dengan sebuah tools Service tool v3400 dan berikut langkah-langkahnya untuk mereset Printer Canon IP 2770

1. Printer dalam keadaan mati dan kabel listrik terpasang.

2. Tekan tombol RESUME 2 detik kemudian tekan tombol POWER sampai lampu hijau nyala (saat

menekan tombol POWER, ...tombol RESUME jgn dilepas dulu)

3. Kemudian lepas tombol RESUME, tapi jangan lepas tombol POWER.

4. Sambil tombol POWER masih tertekan, tekan tombol RESUME 6 kali. Led akan menyala

bergantian orange hijau dengan nyala terakhir hijau. (jangan sampai keliru 4x karena printer akan

mati total, tapi sifatnya sementara juga) Kemudian ...

5. Lepaskan kedua tombol bersamaan.

6. Led akan blink sebentar kemudian akan nyala HIJAU.

7. Komputer akan mendeteksi device baru, abaikan saja .....

8.Keadaan ini menunjukkan Printer Canon IP2770 dalam keadaan SERVICE MODE dan siap direset.

perlu diingat langkah-langkahnya harus urut ya....

1. Exctract File Resetter IP 2770.

2. Siapkan 2 kertas di printer (ini untuk print pada waktu proses reset).

3. Jalankan program Resetter Canon IP P2770

4. Lihat gambar Klik Set seperti pada angka 1 untuk melakukan Clear Ink Counter [Absorber

"MAIN"], maka printer akan berproses, kemudian IP2770 akan print satu halaman dengan tulisan

"D=000.0"

5. Lihat gambar Klik Set seperti pada angka 2 untuk melakukan Ink Absorber Counter [Absorbpeer

"MAIN"], akan menampilkan sebuah klik OK

6. Kemudian klik " EEPROM ", dan printer akan print hasil Resetter iP2770. Salah satu barisnya

tulisannya sbb: "TPAGE(TTL=00000)"

7. Matikan Printer dengan menekan tombol POWER.

8. Tunggu sebentar dan hidupkan lagi printernya..

9. selesai.

Silahkan coba test untuk mencetak 1 lembar saja, biasanya yang sudah-sudah ada 2 kemungkinan yaitu kemungkinan

1. langsung lanjar tanpa halangan suatu apapun kita coba test print langsung bekerja

2. error tahap ke 2 biasanya lampu indikator orange akan berkedip 13x atau 16x untuk mengatasi
